Residents of Washington, DC, have a reason to wake up every Monday morning--at least for the next year--thanks to complimentary coffee at McDonald's. Although this promotion isn't new, it has been extended in a very exciting move to entice customers to keep the fast food chain top priority in their minds as they start their day. The complimentary coffee may theoretically keep their wallets closed, but the company hopes the delicious smells will prove irresistible.
Since breakfast items have become increasingly populated as other fast food restaurants offer their own options, complimentary coffee will help McDonald's stay on top. The Washington Post reports, "Breakfast, which McDonald's serves until 10:30 a.m. nationally, has proven to be an especially successful part of the day for the company. Roughly a quarter of McDonald's sales are earned during the morning window."
