The barrage of boundary-pushing lookbooks signifies a new era for photographers, models, designers and essentially anyone involved with the fashion industry. The showcasing of collections and products has become increasingly eccentric, frequently inspired by obscure films, fetishes and blatant faux-pas.
Taxidermy-themed lookbooks and bird-flipping displays prove that nothing is off limits here. Taboo topics are entirely embraced, and mostly preferred. The rise of social media has increased competition between brands, placing emphasis upon the need to attract viewers. These compilations accomplish this very task by entrancing patrons, often unaware of what it is they may even be looking at. Any attention is good attention here, and although some of the images are disconcertingly racy, they have all mastered groundbreaking frameworks.
