Combining the past with the present is the creative inspiration behind the number of sweet steampunk renditions that have been cropping up in every market from graphic novels, art and sculpture to transportation and fashion.

Originating in the late 1980s to the early 1990s, the steampunk genre is based on the incorporation of old-school steam technology and steam-powered objects into modern creations. Most of these designs feature Victorian-inspired pieces that are futuristic, even by present day standards, but are constructed as if they were predictions of the future made eras ago.
