The iSteamPhone Steampunks Your Favorite Touchscreen

Da Vinci is legendary for his personal notebook of sketches of crazy contraptions, and it seems Kevin Tong’s iSteamPhone sketch is bringing that mythic aesthetic to modern gadgets. Seen here is Tong’s vision of how Da Vinci would have drawn the Apple iPhone, complete with notes, components, descriptions and even faded looking paper.
Though the iSteamPhone is inspired by the iPhone, it’s clear that Tong has taken some liberties in the design to give the iSteamPhone a more steampunk feel. The menu button commonly found on iPhones has been replaced with a clock in Tong’s version, and rather than a lithium ion battery, the imaginary device is powered by a mini-steam engine. Now all they have to do is figure out how to make steampunk apps.
Those looking to show some iSteamPhone love can purchase the inventive illustration on a T-shirt for $20.
