From peace-filled spaces to sexuality-celebrating social enterprises and subsidized restaurant hubs, these community cafes bring people together through food in a way that is accessible for those who live in the area. Sometime's it's a mix of music and social events that are the headliners but other times it's just a simple cup of tea or fair trade latte.

Community cafes serve as local centers but also can provide catering services and through that, training skills and employment opportunities for marginalized communities. In Mississauga, Ontario, Studio 89 is a social enterprise that is run by youth and have expanded since their launch in 2006 to have a location in Islamabad, Pakistan. They serve fair trade food products and also operate as an art space.
