Camaraderie by Schaum Architects transforms a Houston garage into a light-filled café pavilion within Memorial Park. The design features a striking 30-foot cantilevered steel and wood gabled roof that shades a spacious outdoor patio, welcoming park visitors inside without interior columns. Floor-to-ceiling glazing and vaulted ceilings create airy openness, while warm brick cladding, exposed beams, and natural wood finishes add tactile richness and visual depth.
Inside Camaraderie, the layout subtly zones around the kitchen, service counter, and seating area. A cohesive palette of blonde wood, cream tiles, concrete, and stainless steel fosters both modernity and comfort. A glazed wall opens directly to the park, seamlessly merging indoors with nature. Schaum Architects’ design honors the building’s industrial past while delivering a contemporary, sustainable dining destination that enhances Houston’s public realm.
