Commercial-Transformed Artful Galleries

New Affiliates Designs the Canyon Museum Space

Local design firm New Affiliates has just unveiled visuals of 'Canyon.' It is a museum and cultural building taking over what was once a commercial space. Canyon is highlighted by its large gallery and performing arts venue with hybrid functions. Notably, these galleries are designed for video and audio installations for a unique and interactive experience for visitors.

New Affiliates explains, "Canyon was conceived as a hybrid between museum, performing arts venue, and the downtown social scene, offering evening-focused hours, deeply considered hospitality, and state-of-the-art technologies to reimagine how audiences experience these forms of art. Designed to encourage leisurely flow between socializing, and enjoying art, the centrally located bar and cafe will function as a communal hub – an everyday gathering place with the openness of a town square, where visitors can linger, reconnect, and return throughout the evening."
