Adaptive Community Spaces

The Spark of Hudson Transforms an Industrial Site into a Shared Space

The Spark of Hudson reimagines a former downtown property as a multi-purpose community hub designed by GLO with interiors by Present Forms. The project blends coworking spaces, classrooms, and event areas with a café and public gathering zones, creating an environment that supports both productivity and connection. The exterior preserves its industrial brick façade while the new interior layout opens up light and circulation, linking the building’s past to its civic future.

Spatial flow and material tactility define the experience. Natural wood, exposed masonry, and diffused lighting establish a balance between comfort and openness. The design encourages residents to move fluidly between collaboration and reflection, turning the building into a local anchor for creative and social exchange. The Spark of Hudson demonstrates how adaptive reuse can restore community value while retaining the texture of place.
