From Virtual Fashion Models to Teen-Created Lifestyle ZInes

 - Oct 11, 2018
These influencer marketing innovations range from virtual fashion models to teen-created lifestyle zines. Most recently, virtual fashion influencers like Instagram's Lil Miquela and model Shudu -- a project by photographer Cameron James-Wilson -- have slowly replaced human subjects both in editorials and sponsored posts for companies like Prada and Giphy.

When it comes to traditional influencers who are changing the landscape of fashion and lifestyle marketing, Alessandra Garcia Lorido and Bretman Rock come to mind. While Alessandra is a plus-sized model and influencer who recently collaborated with fast fashion brand Nasty Gal for a size-inclusive collection, Bretman Rock is known for his humorous, engaging and LGBT-friendly Instagram and YouTube beauty content. The makeup artist and social media star recently garnered a deal with beauty brand Morphe, launching a signature highlighter palette inspired by ocean hues and his native home of Hawaii.

Other influencer marketing innovations to note include Bonkers Toys' recent collaboration with YouTube child star Ryan of Ryan ToysReview. The collaboration resulted in the launch a signature range designed by the young influencer and consisted of exclusive and pocket-sized 'Ryan's World' action figures.
