As the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated, having self-stable foods on hand is always a good idea. As a result, it seems that many brands are looking for new ways to make their perishables last a little longer. For example, Japanese specialty store Gaku is now serving cake in cans so you can enjoy a sweet treat just about any time.
Beyond packaging, the August 2021 food trends show that brands are also toying with the format of their products. For instance, instead of serving up coffee in the form of a beverage, a brand called Life has created chewing gum from Liquid Core infused with coffee, which is released via the brand's Signature Liquid Center Functional Delivery System.
