Top 100 Design Trends in September

The September 2022 design trends are all about material innovation and experimentation as many are looking to create more sustainable synergies with the man-made and natural environment.

Researchers at Washington State University and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, for example, boast an augmented cement innovation that they infused with shrimp cells to increase the strength of the material. Researchers at the University of Colorado Boulder, on the other hand, have proposed limestone grown out of algae. This delivers a carbon-neutral solution, with the potential of it becoming carbon-negative with a bit more work on the process.
