Anxiety-Alleviating Pet Hospitals

Melany McGillvray' Developed a Calming Pet Hospital Concept

Typically, when your pet sees you pulling out their carrier for going outside, it is an immediately anxiety-provoking situation for the furry companion who, without a doubt, harbors a suspicion that you are taking them to the pet hospital—a place that is usually associated with discomfort or pain. This anxiety persists on the way to the pet hospital, as well as in the waiting room. There isn't much one can do to calm their pet down in these situations

Thoughtful of these situations and the experience of pets, emerging designer and MFA student Melany McGillvray developed a pet hospital interior that will alleviate some anxiety. The concept begins with separated areas for cats and dogs. McGillvray has designed the space to incorporate grass elements and a walkway, encouraging pets to be taken out of their carriers to play and socialize in the waiting rooms.
