Insurance brand ManyPets teamed up with Pets As Therapy to create a petting booth pop-up in the city to provide much-needed stress relief to busy people. The setup at King’s Cross promises to welcome passersby and give people the chance to unwind with therapy dogs. All the while, the pop-up will help to raise awareness and donations for Pets As Therapy, the UK charity that provides therapeutic pet visits to hospitals, care homes and schools.
The creation of this pop-up petting booth was inspired by a ManyPets survey that found cuddling and stroking a pet was the most popular "stress-busting activity" in the UK, with 40% of survey participants reporting it was beneficial for soothing their nerves. On-site, people can measure their heart rate before and after petting the dogs to see and experience the physiologically calming effect of pets for themselves.
