This modular conference venue exudes a contemporary aesthetic and it provides a little flexibility for when it reaches the end of its lifespan—which is expected at 50 years. The development is named Little Finlandia and it is located in Helsinki. The temporary structure acts as "a meanwhile space during a three-year renovation of the neighboring Finlandia Hall."
The concept for the modular conference venue was developed by Jaakko Torvinen, a recently graduated architect who, without a doubt, was excited to provide such a meaningful and interesting contribution to the City of Helsinki. Perhaps the most unique features of Little Finlandia are the 95 pine trees that support the roof of the structure, all of which retain their branches.
