The ice cube necklace by Golem, a studio passed in Paris, France, and Laila El Mahelmy is beautiful and it sends a message about how water is "one of the most sought-after luxury goods."
The ice cube necklace is named OoOoooOoooOh la l'ice necklace. It is designed to be kept frozen until one decides to wear it, at which point the jewelry will melt within 30 minutes.
The inspiration for this piece came during the 2022 summer heatwave in Berlin, one of the hottest summers in Germany. Golem studio founder Ariel Claudet shared that they were at "a hot 24-hour party in Club Der Visionaere, Berlin." The attendees were in "survival mode to overcome the crushing heat" when they started "grabbing ice cubes from the freezers and rubbing each other with them."
