Social good trends in 2013 reflected a more diversely educated, globally aware generation of young people who, thanks to information available on the Internet, are able (and willing) to show empathy toward a wide range of causes that oftentimes have no direct effect on them. Thus, this past year was about literally putting the power in the hands of the people with social good campaigns created, shared and contributed to via social media.

This was also the year of diversified beauty and gender equality, as the tone of many campaigns and ideas, such as H&M's plus-sized mannequin and Debenham's summer lookbook, which featured paralympian athletes, several older women and various other underrepresented beauties.
