Rare Beauty's Every Story Belongs Features 48 People from Latin America

— May 13, 2026 — Pop Culture
Rare Beauty recently introduced True to Myself Natural Matte Longwear Foundation, and to support the launch, the brand founded by Selena Gomez launched the Every Story Belongs campaign.

The Rare Beauty True to Myself Natural Matte Longwear Foundation debuted in an expansive 48-shade range and Every Story Belongs spotlights this by uniting 48 individuals from across Latin America, each representing a shade. “Growing up, I didn’t always see myself reflected in beauty campaigns and when I did, it felt one-dimensional,” Gomez shared in a press release. “I wanted this campaign to show the depth and diversity within our community. There isn’t one way to be Latina. There isn’t one shade, one story or one voice."

The Latina, Indigenous, and Afro-Latina people at the center of the campaign were captured by Chicana and Costa Rican photographer Brittany Bravo.

Trend Themes

  1. Inclusive Shade Representation — Product lines expanding to truly reflect wide skin tone diversity create room for formulation, shade-matching tech and supply-chain reconfiguration that upend traditional one-size-fits-all cosmetics.
  2. Multicultural Storytelling — Campaigns centered on varied cultural narratives open pathways for localized content platforms and data-driven personalization that challenge monolithic brand messaging.
  3. Community-centric Campaigns — Featuring real community members as central voices enables new participatory marketing models and co-creation economies that shift value from celebrity-focused endorsements.

Industry Implications

  1. Beauty and Cosmetics — A move toward expansive shade ranges and inclusive formulations signals opportunities for modular manufacturing and AI-enabled shade matching that disrupt conventional product development.
  2. Advertising and Media — Elevating underrepresented storytellers suggests demand for niche content networks and analytics tools that recalibrate audience segmentation and creative investment.
  3. Photography and Creative Services — Prioritizing culturally attuned visual representation indicates a market for specialized creative talent platforms and remote collaboration workflows that transform traditional agency models.
