56 Stop-and-Stare Publicity Stunts

From Flash Mobs to Exhibitionist Publicity Stunts:

Whether it’s a brand trying to make its mark or a social activist trying to take a stand, publicity stunts are a great way to get attention. The key to an effective publicity stunt is its ability to create conversation, go viral and make people stop and stare. Being imaginative is another big part of the publicity stunt puzzle.

Examples of extreme stunts for social good are UK performance artist Mark McGowan eating the Queen’s favorite type of dog live on radio in protest of the Prince Phillips inhumane killing of a fox while hunting. PETA even went so far as encouraging supporters to cut off their own hair and mail it to the Olsen twins in protest of their affinity for fur fashion.
