From racy advertising campaigns to out-of-the-box architecture, the country is not the boring meeting ground for grey-haired politicians as the media often makes of it.

Antwerp is quite possibly the one and only unpretentious fashion-genius capital of the world, and the medieval beauty of Ghent and Brugge are unmatched. Admittedly, my love for a Belgian man makes me oblivious to the bone-chilling winters, but the colorful intermix of Brussels leaves no excuses for missing this destination.
