The Viterbo Interior Design Ateliers was commissioned to conceive a new retail environment for the historic Pastéis de Belém bakery — a cultural landmark in Lisbon, which has operated since 1837. The additional space is situated adjacent to the original establishment. It was developed to serve the increasing global patronage while acting as a harmonious extension of the venerable shop.

Under the direction of lead designer Gracinha Viterbo, the interior scheme for the Pastéis de Belém bakery extension seeks to merge a contemporary architectural perspective with a profound respect for the brand's longstanding identity and Portuguese artisanal traditions. The material selection features light oak, custom-crafted tiles, and walls finished with textured lime plaster. The color and textural sensibilities serve to establish an ambiance of warmth and enduring authenticity.
