Veinte Diezz Arquitectos' Vistalcielo Project is Stunning & Rustic

Veinte Diezz Arquitectos' Vistalcielo project, which culminated in a stunning historic home, demonstrates an exemplary approach to urban regeneration. The derelict property is located in Mérida's center.

Veinte Diezz Arquitectos reimagined the 155-square-meter dwelling by implementing a thoughtful strategy of minimal intervention. They preserved approximately 70% of the original structure while introducing contemporary elements that enhance livability. The design organizes the narrow lot into a sequence of six alternating enclosed and open-air spaces, creating a rhythmic progression from street entry to rear garden that maintains visual connections throughout. This spatial arrangement not only respects the existing masonry walls but also optimizes natural ventilation and daylight penetration, which addresses Mérida's tropical climate through passive design principles rather than mechanical solutions.
