The AGE-WELL Innovation Studio Highlights Age-in-Place Solutions

AGE-WELL, Canada's technology and aging network, launched the AGE-WELL Innovation Studio in partnership with the University of Toronto, IKEA, and AGE-WELL startups to showcase solutions to support independent living and healthy aging. Many aging adults express a strong desire to age in place, valuing the ability to remain in their own homes while maintaining independence and control over their daily lives. This immersive space, styled like a standard one-bedroom apartment, demonstrates technology like smart home systems, monitoring devices and voice-activated aids to support daily senior activities and overall health.

Quantum Robotic Systems' QBii, for example, is a service robot that carries groceries from the front door to the kitchen, and Centivizer's 2RaceWithMe is a game that promotes physical movement and cognitive wellness.
