A few Olympic game-inspired apps have surfaced such as noise-making apps and an immersive Olympic event app. Mobile apps allow people to feel more connected to the games and be proud of their nation. In spite of Russia’s anti-gay rights laws, there has been a slew of North American backlash. Major corporations issued ads, commercials and logo designs expressing support for Russia’s LGBT community.
The Sochi Olympic Games have inspired anything from connected handholding Olympic mitts to crowdsourced Olympic helmets and to hilarious gold metal ice-skating squid commercials. The Olympics are a time of national sports pride for countries all around the world and therefore inspire Olympic Games-related innovations.
