A Look Into the 20s to Celebrate Baz Luhrmann’s Latest Film

F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic American novel has inspired these Great Gatsby finds. The release of the Baz Luhrmann-directed Gatsby film later this year starring Leonardo Di Caprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire has once again brought the novel to the forefront of culture.

There are many products that are clearly based off the literary masterpiece, from novel-based gaming to literary smartphone covers. However, the book is based in the "Roaring 20s" and the lavish lifestyle that is celebrated there. Great Gatsby fashion finds such as bank-breaking ballgowns to classic 20s barrettes would surely have been worn by Daisy Buchanan. The 1920s was a ravishing time filled with extravagant parties and, despite prohibition, the people of that time knew how to throw it down. Nick Carraway would have definitely written about Gastby’s use of ankle flasks and mass-produced moonshine to create his fortune.
