After more than two years with limited in-store shopping experiences, the April 2022 retail trends reveal how brands are adapting their physical spaces in the wake of the pandemic.
While shopping online has only become more popular since the onset of the covid-19 pandemic, there are still some elements of the purchasing experience that can only be enjoyed in-store. The beauty brand Glossier is leaning into this notion by making its retail stores spaces where consumers can touch, feel, and try the products they're interested in – something that can't be done online.
Another way brands are adapting is by meeting consumers halfway. For instance, the April retail 2022 trends highlight Sweetgreen's new 'sweetlane' concept, which offers consumers the speed and convenience of a digital-oriented, but with the more personal touch of a drive-thru concept.
