These hip hop fashion examples range from nostalgic streetwear collections to high fashion editorials that are modeled or designed by famed rap stars. Taking reign as global music and style icons, rappers like Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Asap Rocky are influencing the fashion industry as a whole and are not only modelling beautiful clothes but are also designing them.
In addition to her numerous magazine covers, Nicki Minaj has collaborated with M.A.C cosmetics and has even created an affordable clothing line for K-Mart. Moreover, founding Dipset member Camron is now more recognized for his Dimepiece clothing collections than he is for his music. Camron's designs celebrate his all-pink look from the early 2000s and use his iconic image to adorn swimsuits, dresses and even stylish surgical masks that were sold during the recent Ebola crisis.
In the luxury retail front, Kanye West has not only collaborated with APC and Adidas but has also joined forces with fashion houses like Louis Vuitton in addition to presenting his personal womenswear range in Paris a few years ago.
