This top list of cooking-conscious social businesses includes a variety of industries and locations. One common thread that shows up a number of times is fuel efficient stoves. For example, there's a sustainable energy technology company that attempts to make "greener coal options." Other cook stoves include Prakti Design, which is an impact-driven company that designs innovations for low-income areas.
Cook stoves, however, aren't the only type here. There are a range of cooking-conscious social businesses. One that is quite popular is Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Cornwall, which is a restaurant but also a training program and apprenticeship for chefs to learn how to make it in the business. Activism is also on the agenda here, as Youth L.E.A.D. Miami works in an around food justice for teenagers.
