Despite convenience culture being alive and well many consumers are seeking out ways to incorporate non-GMO foods into their diet. The health-conscious movement has consumer segments like Millennials focused more on the ingredient list than ever. As such, many brands are taking corrective action by introducing non-GMO products or boasting about how the product has always been GMO-free via new packaging.
Being that GMO foods are associated with so many different ills, consumers are shifting towards non-GMO foods in a bid to be healthier but for additional reasons as well. Aside from offering perceived health benefits, non-GMO foods also don't put chemicals or unnatural things into the soil, which makes them an eco-friendlier alternative as well.
