When you talk about dog advertising, one of the first campaigns that comes to mind is FIDO, but the cell phone company isn’t the only one using canine’s for its own advertising. Here, the audience sees more than a few examples of dogs getting their time to shine.
There’s something intrinsically relatable about seeing dogs in advertising. Being one of the most popular pets, dogs are appealing because so many people are familiar with them and thus, all can get a kick out of seeing them in advertising. Dogs also seem to embody certain elements people enjoy in advertising: they’re cute and genuine.
The Purina commercial uses a dog to break down the formal, stale nature of an office space. The company sends a cute little dog into an office with a tennis ball and hilarity ensues as everyone crowds around to play with the dog.
