The House of Gucci was founded in 1906 by Italian businessman Guccio Gucci, and it began selling leather handbags 15 years later, in 1921.

These days, Frida Giannini works as the Creative Director of the brand, a title that she has held since 2006. She had previously worked at Fendi and Tom Ford, but the House of Gucci has never been as influential and revolutionary (especially when it comes to over the top, glamorous Italian fashion), as when Giannini is at its head.
