23 Educational Retail Features

From Immersive Whiskey Simulators to Experiential Tech Retailers:

Educational retail concepts provide the opportunity for customers to engage with product and service offerings on a conceptual level, which in turn serves as a crash course in the brand's values. In addition to cultivating an audience for the back story of the brand or product in question, immersive retail spaces take engagement to the next level by integrating product education and hands-on testing.

A great example of a retail design focused on storytelling and product education are Tesla's boutiques located within shopping malls. Although not the traditional space for shopping for a car, such educational retail spaces offer consumers the chance to familiarize themselves with a product in a setting that is low pressure and inspired by play.

Additionally, brands are increasingly turning to virtual reality technology in order to provide immersive product trials that are almost as realistic as the real thing. A winning example of this Audi's use of virtual reality to offer virtual test drives, essentially creating a mobile dealership.
