Top 100 Tech Trends in December

From Metaverse Haptic Gloves to Optical Illusion Air Purifiers:

The December 2021 tech trends consist of a wide range of innovations, including playful new gadgets, ergonomically designed computer gear, niche app launches, and revolutionary metaverse products. And while diversity may be this collection's defining feature, there remains a few overarching tech-related themes that are worth taking note of.

For example, several brands began launching new products, services, and solutions that fall under the burgeoning 'phygital' category -- i.e., experiences, usually within retail, that blend physical and virtual elements. For instance, the popular Thai coffee chain True Coffee launched its first flagship store in Bangkok, which implemented a variety of IoT-powered activations and high-tech installations. One of them was a robot barista named 'Nong Pui Fai.'

This month also gave way to new advancements in everyday biometric tracking tech products. For example, Bellabeat released an all-in-one fitness and lifestyle bracelet called 'Ivy' that monitors wearers' health using key biometric markers. Meanwhile, Intuity Medical launched a handheld device called POGO that allows diabetes patients to test their glucose levels while they are on the go.
