Expanded Visual Search Features

Amazon Unveiled Its Visual Search Capabilities in Shopping App

Amazon expanded the visual search capabilities of its Shopping app with new AI-powered discovery tools designed to make product exploration more visual and interactive. The update introduces real-time AI-generated imagery that evolves as shoppers refine searches using descriptive terms such as colors, textures and patterns, allowing users to browse visually similar products directly from generated images.

The retailer also launched Shop by Style, a feature that creates AI-generated shoppable collages for apparel and accessories searches. Organized around themes such as “Urban luxe” and “Soft elegance,” the collages connect shoppers to curated product collections and related styles. In addition, Amazon added visual suggestions that display image-based filters during broad searches, helping users narrow results by selecting visual attributes that match their preferences.

For consumers, the new tools reduce reliance on traditional keyword searches and create a more intuitive path from inspiration to purchase. The rollout reflects Amazon’s broader strategy of using AI to make shopping more personalized, visual and discovery-driven across its digital retail ecosystem.
