'Hoist the Cup' is a new promotion from Pepsi that's giving Canadian hockey fans the chance to experience what it's like to hold the legendary Stanley Cup high above their heads.
When fans order a limited-edition fountain drink at participating Subway locations, they are able to use the Blippar app in order to scan the cup and virtually transform it into an image of the Stanley Cup. With a drink cup standing in for the real trophy, fans are able to take fun photos of themselves for the chance to win NHL tickets and other prizes.
Trend Hunter recently had the chance to speak with NHL alumni Mark Messier, who knows the feeling of being able to proudly hold up the Stanley Cup after a win. On this all-new Pepsi experience, Messier says: "This app and technology really addresses super loyal fans who have always wanted to have their photo taken with the Stanley Cup."
