It seems like every day there is a new VR product or service entering the market and this speaks to how truly innovative and revolutionary this technology will become. While VR is continuing to have an enormous impact on the entertainment industry (it is now in racing toys or virtual stand-up comedy) this is a technology that will soon permeate every aspect of our lives. For example, hospitals can now offer VR ultrasounds for expecting mothers. With the development of inexpensive VR viewers, we are now seeing VR greeting cards. Virtual reality will also be able to be a tool for social good. Right now, a company in Texas is offering complementary VR access with its driving courses to better prepare new drivers for unexpected situations and to show them the dangers of texting while driving.
This is such an exciting time in history. With these new uses for VR, we can shape our world to be better and more efficient while stimulating new business and economic growth.
