This year continued on with the personification of the pet -- in packaging, art, marketing and beyond. There was also a distinct preference for luxury accessories for cats and dogs ranging from bedding to toys and apparel. Most of these luxury offerings come with a very modern aesthetic that is more prevalent among the younger generations. There are no signs of slowing this expanding behemoth of an industry as many millennials and Gen X-ers wait on having kids until later in life, freeing up time and space for an animal to welcome into their homes.
