Target Adds New Items to its Affordable Pet Brand for National Pet Month

In celebration of National Pet Month this May, Target has unveiled a significant refresh of its long-standing Boots & Barkley private label. The updated collection introduces more than 150 new pet products, expanding beyond the traditional mix of accessories and toys to include treats, seasonal items, and other lifestyle-driven offerings for pets. Notably, over two-thirds of the assortment is priced under $10, providing pet owners wth affordable options to care for their furry friends.

The line now features color-coded packaging—green for dogs, blue for cats, and purple for items suitable for both—replacing the previous black, white, and red scheme. In addition to enhancing shelf navigation, the redesigned packaging offers functionality that allows customers to explore product features without damaging the item. This relaunch is part of a broader strategy by Target to modernize its merchandising approach across key categories while deepening its relevance with pet-owning households nationwide.
