43 Playfully Modified Street Signs

Typically street signs are put up to dictate some sort of instruction or action that should be followed, but these playful public signs have been reinvented to convey messages that are a lot more fun than usual. This includes signs that feature symbols, identification, safety information, directions or traffic signs, infusing a little more humor into the lives of the general public.

Some great examples of feel-good street signs come from the National Trust’s 'Nature’s Playground' campaign, which encouraged people to stop, take photos and walk on the grass, instead of baring messages meant to discourage these kinds of behaviors. While quite a few of these signs were created from scratch, others prove that subtle street sign hacks can be just as comical, albeit illegal.
