AI Sun Care Billboards

The Burnable Billboard Shows Damage Caused to Human Skin in Real-Time

In some climates and situations, people underestimate UV exposure and neglect sun protection, and The Burnable Billboard was created to raise awareness of the risk of skin damage and long-term health issues. British Skin Foundation created this innovative campaign in collaboration with a dermatologist, the technical team at The Gardening.club, and artificial intelligence.

"Beginning with studio-captured images of healthy, undamaged skin, we worked closely with a dermatologist to create keyframes illustrating each stage of sun damage," detailed Tomas Roope, AI technologist and creative director at The Gardening.club, "Then, using other AI tools, we generated thousands of interpolated frames to illustrate how unprotected skin is damaged by exposure to the sun.” As a result, these billboards visually demonstrate the power of the sun and what it can do to human skin in real-time.
