Interest in the sharing economy has given rise to many innovative car sharing services that allow consumers to take advantage of the benefits of shared ownership.

Taking a page from the success of ridesharing services like Lyft and Uber, major automotive brands are launching their own P2P networks. This includes BMW's ReachNow in America and DriveNow in Europe, Audi Unite and GM's Maven, which gives the public the chance to get to their destination via an autonomous shared vehicle.

Interest in the sharing economy has become so large that rental services like HyreCar have emerged in order to provide non-car owners access to a vehicle so that they can become a driver for popular ridesharing services. Outside of sharing vehicles, consumers are also taking advantage of group insurance plans, P2P delivery services and parking apps that offer mutual benefits for all parties involved.
