Automotive Digital Twin Solutions

Siemens Debuts Its Simulation Platform — PAVE360 Automotive

Siemens has introduced a cloud-hosted simulation platform — the PAVE360 Automotive — which functions as a pre-assembled digital replica of a vehicle’s electronic systems. This digital twin software suite is engineered to allow automotive companies and their component partners to initiate comprehensive testing and development of intricate vehicle software virtually. The move will substantially decrease the initial configuration period that traditionally spans many months.

The escalating complexity of modern vehicles, especially with the transition to software-defined architectures, has rendered conventional sequential development processes inefficient and risky. This simulation platform proposes a method to mitigate those risks by enabling concurrent software development long before physical prototypes or finalized hardware are available.

Siemens' PAVE360 Automotive specifically targets the creation and validation of software for automated driving features, self-governing vehicle operations, and onboard entertainment units by providing a holistic virtual model that emulates the performance of physical hardware components. It incorporates licensed technology from other industry firms, such as semiconductor designs from Arm, to more accurately mimic the eventual operational environment.
