At this time, heroin use was on the rise due to its availability and popularity among the middle and high class. Heroin chic was a drug-addicted look that was featured in the 1993 Calvin Klein Obsession ads that featured Kate Moss.

This style began to fade after the drug-induced death of the young and gifted photographer David Sorrenti. This look may be blamed for glamourizing drug use, but this mix of hipster, punk and chic into one form is still quite fascinating.
