The FANTASTIKO21 Supermarket in Sofia, Bulgaria is a mesmerizing example of the dynamic power of geometric design in relation to grocery merchandising. The dizzying black and white interior space is a new concept that is part of the Fantastiko chain, the largest chain of grocery stores in Bulgaria. Designed by cityscape architects, the store hopes to enhance the daily routines of those who visit the store through added value amenities.
The intimate and vibrant space resembles an American Whole Foods in its sprawling nature and is entirely designed in accordance with guidelines that ensure sustainable business operations. With a logical floor layout, the brand hopes that the store will fit into the Bulgarian lifestyle, which sees picking up fresh ingredients at a market on the way home from work as a normal part of everyday life.
