Eclectic Asian Eateries

This Food Bazaar in Thailand Recreates the Experience of Chinatown Indoors

The prospect of finding delicious food is usually what draws people towards a food bazaar, but this food court in Thailand appeals to more than one of the senses with its unique design.

The Thai shopping mall food court was styled to be "contemporary Chinese chic," taking inspiration from the feeling of being in a Chinatown market. The aesthetics of the market in the Phuket Jungceylon shopping mall are reflective of the influence Chinese culture has had on the city of Phuket, with regard to food, tourism and attractions.

With dark surfaces, neon lights and an eclectic mix of chairs, tables and vendors, being inside the market feels more like being outside on the streets of a bustling city filled with community and culture.
