Jhanyar Designs the New GaGeeNang Collection

Thai design firm Jhanyar presents the new GaGeeNang collection of products for Bangkok Design Week. Founders of the firm Watcharavit Chanyakul and Siriwan Wattanajindawong are both fans of street food, and the GaGeeNang capsule builds on these experiences at some of the most casual dining spots in the city. They reimagined familiar pieces, including plastic stools and folded tables, by adding a functional touch, like a table top.

The duo explain the design process to Dezeen, noting "The project aims to enhance the quality of Thailand's charming street food culture while experimenting with new ideas such as highlighting gaps in behaviours and lifestyles. This project adopts a Chinese word that conveys a sense of warmth, simplicity and inclusiveness, making it accessible to everyone."
