Facebook Birthday Tools Help Users Get Creative with Their Posts

Facebook recently released two new features under the Facebook Birthday Tools, which enable users to celebrate someone's special day in-app and in style. The tool expands on two already popular features, including in-app donations and video-based messages, allowing users to get more creative with their happy birthday posts.

Now, two weeks before a birthday, users will receive a notification that allows them to select a non-profit they'd like to support. After a cause has been selected, the users' friends will receive a notification encouraging them to donate to this birthday campaign. Much like Facebook's pre-automated 'friendiversarie' videos, well-wishers can now deviate from the expected wall post with a quick video clip, created using an uploaded photo.
