We're seeing a distinct influx of points programs, free gifts with purchase and beyond, which are each grabbing the attention of consumers for being a quick way to get what they want or need a little something extra.

While the idea of rewards programs and loyalty cards isn't necessarily new, the innovative approaches that have been popping up recently (think: medicinal marijuana apps that reward prescriptions filled) are transforming the industry of rewarding loyalty into something far more complex.
