Cause-driven products become prevalent in the cosmetics industry
Implications - While fashion industry players have continued to involve themselves with social good campaigns from fair trade to fur, the beauty industry has been relatively slow to follow suit. However, some beauty brands are starting to catch up by doing their part, whether it’s creating an eco-friendly line of products or ensuring that portions of sales go toward specific causes. In an age where charity and social good is practically expected of businesses, no brand—beauty or otherwise—can really afford to sit out on the social cause game.
