A vast amount of clothing enters our landfills each and every day, so these recycled hanging planters have been designed to offer a new approach to preventing this from being the common case. Designed by Eriko Yokoi and one of the top four finalists at the Lexus Design Awards, the planters are achieved by taking old polyester clothing and compressing it. This becomes the optimal artificial fiber soil for plants to help them flourish indoors and make something that would otherwise be thrown away into a new product.
The recycled hanging planters vary in color because of the randomized nature of the material that's used, while the modern shape encourages plants to grow around it to eventually envelope it.
