The beauty of virtual reality technology is that it can be set up anywhere in order to create immersive experiences, as is the case with this Mercedes-Benz showroom. This example is set up inside of a bookstore known as T-Site in Tokyo.
By stationing its virtual showroom inside of the city bookstore, the car company gives itself the chance to appeal to urbanites who might not otherwise consider car ownership in Tokyo. Right outside of the VR stations in the bookstore, there are real demonstration cars parked in the lot, which can be test driven on the spot following a virtual reality experience.
In Japan, bookstores are becoming popular locations that also double as event spaces, galleries and more.
